i make words permanent in fumes.
i suffocate on my strangled thoughts,
and my words leave me in a hole.
you gave me my pen (my shovel).
you told me to keep writing, so i did.
i tore through the paper. i ripped it to shreds.
and then you did the dirtiest thing.
you left me to rot in the dirt.
i danced with spiders.
the worms kept me company
and now i decided to write in my grave.
i wrote my own epitaph.
"it's all for you" i said
with my teeth rotted out,
and my body lying there in cherry
just as my mom promised should she
outlive me.
